A leading international publication reports that Chief of War follows the epic and unprecedented telling of the unification and colonisation of Hawaii from an indigenous point of view.

Apart from headlining and writing, Momoa is also attached as creator and executive producer of the eight-episode series.

Justin Chon is in talks to direct the first two episodes of Chief of War, which is being bankrolled via Endeavor Content and Chernin Entertainment.

This is not the first time Momoa is associated with a project as a writer. The multi-talented actor has previously written and directed such films as Brown Bag Diaries: Ridin' the Blinds in B Minor and Road To Paloma.

The Game of Thrones star is also credited as co-story writer on the forthcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The much-anticipated film will see him reprise the role of Arthur Curry/ Aquaman.

Momoa currently stars in Apple’s post-apocalyptic drama series See. Buoyed up by the great response, the streamer has renewed the series for a third season.
