I've never been approached in a wrong way, Tejasswi Prakash on casting couch

Actress Tejasswi Prakash, who is currently playing the lead as Pratha in Colors TV's Naagin 6, is on cloud nine these days. She is enjoying all the attention, praises and the love coming her way. Her professional career is going great and so is her love life. The talented actress is dating Karan Kundra and the duo are being touted as the 'Power Couple' of Indian television right now.

While Tejasswi has some successful shows like Sanskaar - Dharohar Apnon Ki, Swaragini - Jodein Rishton Ke Sur and Pehredaar Piya Ki to her credit, she says entering television was never her plan. She reveals that she was offered her first show after winning a contest.

Though her family had apprehensions, Tejasswi saya she never faced 'casting couch' or any such unsavoury encounters in her career so far. "Right from my first meeting, my first audition, to even my shootings- my mother used to accompany me all the time. People say you have to do so and so thing to get a show but touchwood, I never had to do anything of that sort. I've never been approached in a wrong way... I think I've been blessed to have some of the nicest producers and the nicest of projects without any such things."

Though the Bigg Boss 15 winner doesn't say that the stories shared by other actresses during the #MeToo movement aren't true, she maintains that she never faced anything as she came from a very secured space.

"I always had a sense of security. Being from Mumbai, I never had the pressure of proving something to people, the way girls who come from other towns do. I was never desperate for anything and always had a back up plan of completing my masters and bagging a decent job," she says.

Being a victim of bodyshaming on social media, Tejasswi said it doesn't affect her as she has conditioned herself to not focus on harsh criticism regarding her body or her career. "There has to be a certain sense of uniqueness to me when I appear onscreen. Body positivity is something that I always encourage. Loving and accepting oneself is the most important. Also, love is all about the energy you exude. And the only way I can be loved by others is by being pure from inside," she says.

Speaking on her love life and her equation with partner Karan Kundra, Tejasswi says she is very happy in love and it feels amazing how the duo are adored and accepted as a couple. However, when asked of marriage, she says it is not on the cards right now.

'We are both focusing on our respective work right now. For me, this relationship is very precious and I'm scared of the evil eye. So won't be encouraging this whole marriage topic right now. It (marriage) will happen when it's supposed to happen."

"Please keep the blessings coming in and I hope we do great things in life," the actress concludes.
