Anil Sharma's 165-minute-long Genius, starring his son Utkarsh Sharma, is the adult equivalent of this experience. This is not a film; it is an expensive display of affection by an indulgent father towards his son. On a human level, a man introducing his boy to the world "in and as Genius" is sweet, if a little immodest. It should ideally be none of our business.

The film is written, directed and produced by his dad Anil Sharma. Utkarsh Sharma's launch vehicle is understandably loaded heavily in his favour. A father's love knows no bounds. The film frequently grinds to a halt to allow papa's boy to launch into veritable monologues. The trouble is that in the end Genius - has a Hindi movie title ever been more presumptuous? - does no real favours to the debutant.

In the world of Prems & Rahuls we've our Genius named as Vasudev Shastri (Utkarsh Sharma). He's a topper from IIT which is more of a Indian Institute of 'Timepass' than 'Technology'. People sing songs in the campus, class & even loo, there's no sign of professors, also teacher in mid of the exam goes out to talk on his phone with another lady teacher. Amidst all this Vasu manages to get into India's top most intelligence agency RAW even before he finishes his college.

GENIUS is the story of two genius minds. Vasudev Shastri (Utkarsh Sharma) is an orphan from Mathura. His mind works faster than a computer. He not just knows his Sanskrit shlokas but also his algebra theorems and scientific formulas by heart. He goes to study at IIT Roorkee where he falls for Nandini (Ishita Chauhan). The RAW finds out about Vasudev and his intelligence and invites him to join the wing even before completing his course.
