Ask her how she ensures that her presence does not get sidelined in films starring actors whose persona is so much larger than life, she said, “I think it comes from an inner self-belief.”

Quoting an instance from her 2020 blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo co-starring Allu Arjun, the actress said, “People did talk about 'Butta Bomma', and the songs much more than anything else. But there were a few scenes where I tried to strike a balance, indicating how much importance my role carries, in the story.”

She added, “Also, I go an extra mile, and dub for my movies, even though the language is difficult. Now or later, people will recognize me and my efforts.”

Pooja Hegde is presently gearing up for the release of her next film Radhe Shyam alongside Prabhas. The Radha Krishna Kumar directorial is set to release on 11 March, 2022.
