Shahid Kapoor ups his fees to ₹38 crores for Ali Abbas Zafar's next

Shahid Kapoor recently joined hands with Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) director Ali Abbas Zafar for his next project. Billed to be a ‘mad ride of weapons and gangs,' the movie will mark Shahid Kapoor and Ali Abbas Zafar's debut collaboration.

Kapoor had previously stated that he was prepared to forego his acting pay in order to ensure that his upcoming film Jersey releases in theatres. The actor has stuck to his word, and the film will be released on April 14th.

Kapoor, who had been paid roughly ₹31 crores for the film, subsequently had to take a pay cut when the release was pushed back owing to the Omicron threat at the last minute. And now we have another insider tip.

Shahid Kapoor's acting fees have reportedly increased once again for the Ali Abbas Zafar project, as per sources. The Kabir Singh (2019) actor is also anticipating great profits from Jersey, and has charged 25% extra for the film that is a follow up to Jersey.

A source stated, “Shahid Kapoor has come on board this action-packed thriller directed by Ali Abbas Zafar for a massive sum of ₹38 crores. This is around 25% more than Jersey and more than twice of what he had fetched for the game changer, Kabir Singh. He is in-fact, adopting the route of letting his work talk for his worth.”

 The source further added, “Every success would mean acting fees going up, and every failure would mean the acting fees coming down. It’s a dynamic pricing strategy that he has designed, and at this point of time, he is confident for both Jersey and Ali Abbas Zafar’s next to fetch big returns at the box office. If the film succeeds, his asking price for the one after that would increase even further.”

 According to reports, the film is a remake of the 2011 French film Nuit Blanche, which has previously been adapted in Tamil and Telugu as Thoongaa Vanam (2015) and Cheekati Rajyam (2015), respectively, starring Kamal Hassan.
