Disney+ Hotstar’s medical thriller Human featuring Shefali Shah wraps up production

On Thursday, Disney+ Hotstar announced the wrap up on the production of the much-anticipated medical thriller drama Human. The show, which went before cameras in January earlier this year, revolves around the underbelly of human drug testing and the world of medical scam.

Human stars multiple award-winning actress Shefali Shah in the lead role. Joining her on the cast is Kirti Kulhari who has proved her mettle time and again. Both actors will be seen experimenting with the genre for the first time ever in their career. The makers today dropped a video clip featuring Shah and a clapperboard while announcing the wrap.

The high-profile streaming show is bankrolled by the Delhi Crime (2019) actor's husband, filmmaker Vipul Shah, who also serves as co-director alongside filmmaker Mozez Singh. Singh has written the show along with Ishani Banerjee, Stuti Nair, and Aasif Moyal. Darshan Prakaash and Arjun Bhandegoankar have written the dialogues.

Talking about Human, Shah had earlier said, “This project was in the works for almost three and a half years now, and back then we did not know about the virus and the vaccine. It took us a long time to write because we have tried to simplify the process of human trials of vaccines in a way that the audience understands. Today, everyone is aware of what drug trials mean. It is not about coronavirus, but about medical trials that have taken place across the world for decades now.”

The other cast members who will play significant characters on the show include Ram Kapoor, Seema Biswas, Vishal Jethwa, Aditya Srivastava, Atul Kumar, Indraneil Sengupta, and Sandeep Kulkarni among others.
