In a recent interview, Taapsee expressed that Shahrukh’s journey is very personal to her which is why working with him is a huge accomplishment. The actress said, "When you end up getting the opportunity to work with him (Shah Rukh), it becomes a golden opportunity. And combined with the fact that it is going to be directed by Rajkumar Hirani, whose films are classics, it doesn't get better. I don't know how I will ever get up to it."

The Pink actress further added, "Shahrukh sir comes from Delhi, the same place as me, and started from scratch. I don't miss the opportunity to tell him every time that he is someone who we consider very personal. Even before I met him, his journey felt too personal because of how he started and built an empire for himself."

According to sources, Dunki will draw attention to the widespread usage by Indians of an unauthorized backdoor route known as the "Donkey Flight" to enter nations like Canada and the USA.
