Varun Dhawan on massy film; says he is ‘comfortable’ doing them

Actor Varun Dhawan since his debut with Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the year’ alongside Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra, the actor has entertained the audience with ‘Main Tera Hero’, ‘Badlapur’, ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’, ‘ABCD: Any Body Can Dance’, ’Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, ‘Dilwale’, ‘Sui Dhaaga’ and more. Making him one of the most talented actors of his generation in the industry. 

In a recent interview, the actor spoke about the comfort he feels when doing so-called Massey entertainers. The actor even shared his experience working with good directors like Shoojit Sarkar, Nitesh Tiwari, and Sriram Raghavan and how this made him grow. Speaking about his upcoming film ‘Bhediya’ with Amar Kaushik, Varun said how such a film hasn’t been done in recent times. Saying, "Working with Dinesh Vijan (who is producing it) after Badlapur was great. I told him, ‘ Tu hamesha mere paas itni tedhi films kyun leke aata hai?’ He said, ‘ Usme hi mazaa hai, I want to put you in an uncomfortable zone”. As an actor Varun won critical acclaim for a number of films including ‘October’ and ‘Badlapur’. Despite the success of those films, Varun shared how he feels more comfortable in the Massey genre. "Even if you are doing a massy entertainer, you need to figure out newer ways of entertaining the audience. I can’t still be doing what I did in Main Tera Hero," he shared. 

Varun will soon be seen opposite Janhvi Kapoor in ‘Bawaal’ which has turned into the most expensive film the actor has been a part of. Furthermore, alongside Kriti Sanon he has ‘Bhediya’.
