KGF Chapter 2: Yash starrer steals the thunder of Heropanti 2 & Runway 34 at BO

KGF Chapter 2 starring Kannada superstar Yash continues its phenomenal run at the box office. In the third week of its release, the film has collected over Rs 1,000 crore worldwide and is still going strong at the box office. It is also the fourth Indian film ever to cross the coveted milestone behind Dangal (2017), Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017), and RRR (2022).

On the other hand, the first weekend collection of Heropanti 2 and Runway 34 (which released on April 29) have not been able to match upto the collection of KGF: Chapter 2, which continues to be numero uno at the box office.

As per reports, Runway 34 had collected just Rs 13 crore at the box office by weekend. Meanwhile, Heropanti 2 had fared slightly better with nett collections of over Rs 15 crore. However, both the films failed to give a tough fight to the Hindi version of Kannada film KGF: Chapter 2, which earned over Rs 20 crore during the weekend. So far, the total collection of the Hindi version stands at Rs. 366.50 crore.

Trade analysts are of the opinion that it is the aura of superstar Yash that has dampened the run of Heropanti 2 and Runway 34 at the box office. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also confirmed that KGF Chapter 2 (Hindi version) is being preferred by viewers over the aforementioned films.
