Opportunities are on her lap: When Aishwarya Rai Bachchan talked about Alia Bhatt's privilege due to Karan Johar's patronage

Alia Bhatt has arrived and she is not going to budge anytime soon. The young actress, who proved her mettle right in her second film Highway (2013), has come a long way. And with her marvellous and lively performance in the recently released Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022), Alia is at the top her game right now.

Through her diverse onscreen characters, the 29-year-old actress has shut out naysayers who wrote her off as yet another 'rom-com' star kid and a product of nepotism.

While Alia's 10-year-old cinematic career is awe-inspiring, there's one person who has also played an important role in her life as a mentor and a guide. And that is filmmaker Karan Johar, whom Alia calls her 'godfather'. The warm bond that the duo shares is known to the world. Karan has been instrumental in shaping up Alia's career by mentoring her towards stardom.

Recently, an old interview of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was doing the rounds on social media in which Aish is seen talking about Alia and how Karan's patronage helped her career grow and prosper.

During a promotional event for her film Fanney Khan (2018), Aishwarya remarked on how comforting it was for Alia to always get one good opportunity after another, owing to Karan.

“I have said this to her also, ‘it’s fantastic for you'. The kind of support Karan has given to her from the beginning and to have that kind of an establishment with you is very comforting because you know it is not tough. You can have it all laid out for the longest time. It's great where you as an actor know there are only good opportunities ahead,” Aishwarya said.

"But what's nice is she is also doing good work, along with great opportunities which are virtually there literally on her lap, regularly," she added.

Well, we do agree with you on that Aishwarya! Alia may have had a certain privilege but she has carved a niche for herself through her hard work, talent and determination. And she deserves all the love, admiration and praise for it.
