The makers of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 have announced a new release date for the much-anticipated film. Directed by well-known filmmaker Anees Bazmee and written by Farhad Samji and Aakash Kaushik, the horror-comedy film will enter cinemas on May 20, 2022.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, as the title aptly suggests, is the sequel to the 2007 blockbuster Bhool Bhulaiyaa. While the original film featured Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, and Shiney Ahuja in lead roles, the sequel stars Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu in central characters.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, and Krishan Kumar under the banner of T-Series Films and Cine1 Studios, the film was originally set to release in 2020. However, the sudden outbreak of the coronavirus threw a wrench into the works and its shoot had to be put on hold for several months.
Recently, the makers had announced that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 would release on March 25, 2022. Later, the team of yet another hugely anticipated film RRR also announced their plan to release their film on the same date. But with the horror-comedy film shifting to a new date, RRR has a clear field to play.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is now scheduled to hit the marquee on 20th May, 2022.
