Ananya Panday praises Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey; says 'You made me cry like a baby'

Mrunal Thakur and Shahid Kapoor are on cloud 9 because their recently released film Jersey (2022) has been receiving rave reviews from the public. The sports drama, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, is a Bollywood remake of the National Award-winning film Jersey (2019), which starred Nani in the lead role. Jersey was one of the most anticipated films of the year, and fans and celebrities from the film industry have shared their views since its release.

Ananya Panday has recently revealed how emotionally drenched she was after watching the sports drama. Ananya Panday's gesture of appreciation for Shahid comes amid reports of her breakup with his brother, Ishaan Khattar. Sharing one of the posters of the film on her Instagram story, the Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019) actress wrote, “All the feels @shahidkapoor you made me cry like a baby!!! Just the best @mrunalthakur you’re sunshine girl! @officialpankajkapur sir (raising hands emoticons) @amanthegill all my love is with you.”

Jersey follows the path of Arjun, a man who, in his late thirties, chooses to return to cricket to fulfill his son's dream. However, his marriage suffers as a result of this. Jersey also features Shahid's father, veteran actor Pankaj Kapur, who plays a key role alongside Shahid and Mrunal. The film had a modest first-day gross of roughly 3.75-4 crores (net). Despite the fact that the afternoon and evening screenings of Jersey were better than the morning ones, according to Box Office India, the film failed to make a significant profit on its first day.
