Bhediya 'once in a lifetime opportunity,’ ‘enjoying' Bawaal: Varun Dhawan on his upcoming films

Varun Dhawan's two-year-long hiatus from movies has paid off. His latest release Jugjugg Jeeyo has raked in good numbers on the very first day and is looking ahead at a decent box office run. 

While the success of the comedy entertainer has surely made the actor happy, Varun is equally excited about his upcoming films viz. Bhediya and Bawaal.

Talking about Bhediya, Varun says the film for him is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. "We shot for Bhediya extensively in Ziro and it's a crazy character. I don't think anyone has played a character like this before. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me to get it right under the guidance of Amar Kaushik. From day one till today, he is in the film. He is making sure that no one gets a chance to make fun of the film, and get all the aspects right".

"I have worked with Kriti (Sanon) and Abhishek Banerjee in the film and there's also a very special debutant from North East in there. He is a brilliant performer," he adds.

About Bawaal, Varun further has only great things to say, given the fact that he's enjoying himself to the fullest while shooting for the film in Europe. "I am enjoying it. I am loving the process of shooting with Nitesh sir. He is so good for his actors, and I don't know how he gets such good work out of his actors," said the 35-year-old actor.

For starters, Bhediya is a comedy horror film directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. The film is the third installment in Dinesh Vijan's horror-comedy universe. The film will release theatrically worldwide on 25 November 2022.

On the other hand, Bawaal (2023) features Janhvi Kapoor opposite Varun Dhawan and has been jointly produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Nitesh Tiwari. The movie has already generated a lot of excitement for many reasons. It is being shot across 3 Indian cities and 5 European locations, including the French capital, Paris.
