
Comedian Raju Srivastava passes away at AIIMS Today
A family member has confirmed that the 58-year-old comedian Raju Srivastava passed away in Delhi. On August 10, he collapsed while working at the gym and was subsequently sent to AIIMS Delhi.
Veteran comedian Raju Srivastav, who was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), passed away at age 58. On August 10, after complaining of chest pain while using a treadmill at the gym, Raju Srivastava suffered a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. The following day, he underwent an angioplasty as well.
At AIIMS, Delhi, Raju Srivastava was being kept alive by a machine. After 15 days of ventilator support, the comic regained consciousness. On September 1, however, he was placed on ventilator support after developing a fever as high as 100 degrees.
Raju Srivastava’s Work
Since the late 1980s, Srivastava has worked in the entertainment sector. In 2005, he won praise for his performance on the first season of the stand-up comedy program "The Great Indian Laughter Challenge." He played roles in movies like "Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon," "Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya," and "Maine Pyar Kiya," "Baazigar," the remake of "Bombay to Goa" among others.
