In the June 2000 film Refugee, Kareena Kapoor Khan made her Bollywood debut alongside Abhishek Bachchan. With the Hrithik Roshan-starring film ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’, which was released in January of the same year, she was given the chance to make her major debut a little early. In ‘Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne Lage’, they reunited. Back then, the romance musical drama made waves in the movie business. In a vintage interview with Filmfare, Kareena Kapoor Khan discussed leaving the project. The actress thinks that she would have become a star in the movie, but she is pleased she isn't because she wants to be recognised as an actress.
She went on to say that the movie was designed specifically for Hrithik Roshan to make her point. She stated: “His dad spent five hours on every frame and close-up of his, whereas not even five seconds were spent on Ameesha.” She further said, "There are frames where Ameesha Patel’s pimples and under-eye bags on her face are visible.” She thought Ameesha wasn't attractive, but Hrithik looked perfect in every picture.
Despite claiming that she would have had a better deal if she had been in the movie, Kareena Kapoor Khan feels that both should have equal prominence in the film. She is therefore happy that she declined the offer from ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’. She is relieved that her friendship with Hrithik was unaffected by this as well.

Kareena Kapoor Khan's next professional appearance will be in ‘The Crew’, which also stars Tabu and Kriti Sanon. Producing the movie are Rhea and Ekta Kapoor. 'The Devotion of Suspect X' by Sujoy Ghosh is also in her possession. She also has Hansal Mehta's unnamed, for which she also served as producer, in the works.
