On Monday, T-Series posted the official teaser for the most recent thriller from director Hansal Mehta, Faraaz, on its YouTube channel. The more than two-minute-long trailer opens with a view of diners taking in their meals on July 1, 2016, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, at the Holey Artisan cafe. The late actor Shashi Kapoor's grandson and son-in-law, actor Zahaan Kapoor, appears in the video as one of the patrons. Zahaan makes his or her debut in Faraaz.

A user shared, “We need to be thankful to @mehtahansal & @anubhavsinha that they made a movie #Faraaz where followers (or admirers) of famous religious leader Zakir Naik will be shown to whole world how they wreaked havoc on innocent people in name of Allah #HoleyArtisanBakery #Dhakaattack”

A group of terrorists storm in and start shooting individuals at random as people are having a peaceful meal in the evening. Aditya Rawal, son of actor Paresh Rawal, appears in the trailer as one of the terrorists. Aditya's character asks Zahaan, "Faraaz Hussain, Bangladesh ka Shehzada (Bangladesh's prince)?" while the Bangladesh Police strategize how to free the hostages from the terrorists' control. 20-year-old Faraaz was killed in the 2016 incident. He was Latifur Rahman's grandson.

Zahaan is seen protecting youngsters and engaging in combat with the terrorists inside the cafe as the police prepare an attack. Zahaan is pushed by Aditya's character and is asked what he wants as the trailer comes to a close. He responds, "Tum jaeso se apna Islam wapas chahiye (I want my Islam back from people like you.)”

On February 3, Faraaz will debut in theatres around the nation. Together, Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, Anubhav Sinha's Benaras Mediaworks, and the Mahana Films team of Sahil Saigal, Sakshi Bhatt, and Mazahir Mandasaurwala produced the movie. At the BFI London Film Festival in 2022, the movie had its triumphant global debut.
