Fawad Khan Talks About Battling With His Health, REVEALS Getting Diagnosed With Diabetes At 17

Stars are renowned for having fit bodies, but in order to keep them that way, they go to great lengths to exercise for much of the day, watch what they eat, and do other things. Fawad Khan, one of the most adored performers and a fixture in the fitness world, recently discussed his struggles with his health after receiving a Type 1 diabetes diagnosis as a teenager. While keeping a healthy lifestyle might be tough on its own, doing so while also battling a medical condition is sometimes significantly more challenging.

Fawad Khan described how he was a teenager when he received his initial Type 1 diabetes diagnosis. He claimed, "At the age of 17, my body had an immunological response. My body weight dropped by 10 kilograms in just eight days as a result of a severe fever episode that I had. I decreased from 65 kg to 55 kg when I was 17 years old.

The actor went on to explain how his health was deteriorating: "Then the day after that, my thirst increased a lot; it is a condition called polyuria, which means you are frequently going to the toilet and you constantly have the need to urinate because you are drinking a lot of water." I was dehydrated, so even after consuming six to seven liters of water, my mouth would remain dry.

Fawad said, "I was pretty active in school and played every sport, but after being diagnosed with diabetes, it essentially vanished. My interest in sports has entirely diminished. I was continuously weary and showed little interest for the first two to three months. Fawad Khan, however, said that he never let his battle with diabetes interfere with his success in the entertainment business. He bragged, "I've had a career in diabetes for 24 years, I've been on insulin since I was 17 and I'm now 41."
