FC Barcelona Congratulates New Parents Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor; see the special message here

The Spanish soccer team thanked the actors a day after they disclosed the name of their daughter Raha Kapoor and published a photo of her wearing a miniature Barcelona jersey. FC Barcelona released the image that Alia had previously uploaded on Instagram on Friday through Twitter.

The caption for the post was, "Congratulations, @aliaa08 and Ranbir Kapoor!! A new Barca fan is born (baby emoticon). We can't wait to meet you all in Barcelona.”

The tweet was reacted to by fans after the football club tweeted the same image and thanked the newly parents, "This is big! FC Barcelona wishing Ranbir and Alia," a person commented. Another fan commented , "Just the greatest club in the world blessing a child."

Ranbir is a die-hard FC Barcelona supporter. A Barcelona shirt with Lionel Messi's autograph was given to him by the team a few years back. In Barcelona in 2011, Ranbir met Messi. Ranbir stated in 2011,"I’m just an actor, Messi is a Rockstar... If I wasn’t an actor, I would have played professional football. Or at least struggled to get into the team."

On November 6, Alia and Ranbir had a baby girl, their first child. Alia uploaded a photo to Instagram on Thursday. Ranbir was holding the infant in the hazy photo, and Raha was written on a photo frame of FC Barcelona football jersey that was hanging on the wall.

She captioned the picture, "The name Raha (chosen by her wise and wonderful Dadi) has so many beautiful meanings... Raha, in its purest form means divine path, in Swahili she is Joy, In Sanskrit, Raha is a clan, In Bangla -rest, comfort, relief, in Arabic peace, it also means happiness, freedom & bliss. And true to her name, from the first moment we held her – we felt it ALL! Thank you Raha, for bringing our family to life, it feels as though our lives have only just begun."

Alia has posted on Instagram to share the birth news,"And in the best news of our lives:- Our baby is here...and what a magical girl she is. We are officially bursting with love - Blessed and obsessed PARENTS!!!! Love love love Alia and Ranbir."

In June of this year, the couple made the pregnancy public. On April 14, 2022, Alia and Ranbir got married after dating for a while. A small ceremony for the marriage was held at Vastu, Ranbir's home in Mumbai.
