Mrunal Thakur set to team up with director Gauri Shinde

Buzz has it that Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur is set to collaborate with acclaimed filmmaker Gauri Shinde on her next directorial venture. The Super 30 (2019) actress recently dropped a bunch of photos with Shinde on her Instagram handle. The caption below the photos read, “Oh Hello, Dream Director.” Fans were quick to speculate that the two are set to join forces for a project.

While we wait for an official announcement confirming Thakur and Shinde’s collaboration, the actress is presently busy promoting her next film Jersey, which has faced an inordinate delay in release due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The film, which is the official remake of the successful Telugu-language film of the same name, stars Shahid Kapoor as the male lead. After numerous delays, it is now scheduled to hit the marquee on April 14, 2022.

Speaking of Gauri Shinde, she last directed Dear Zindagi (2016), starring Alia Bhatt and Shahrukh Khan. The film received a rousing response from the audience and set the cash registers jingling with healthy collections. The director is also credited with directing superstar Sridevi’s comeback film, English Vinglish (2012).
