Pati Patni Aur Woh (PPAW) on MX Player, released three years back, has recently been creating a lot of buzz. It is a series directed by Nisheeth Neerav Neelkanth and written by director Anshuman Chaturvedi. Happy with the response, he talks about what is so special about this subject, sharing the name with titles of old and new films, getting the ‘Best Writer’ nomination for the series and juggling two things—being a writer and director—at the same time.

“I am happy that some new viewers have discovered this series again and appreciate it. The ‘Woh’ or ‘the other person’ is unique about this series. It clubs two genres into one— one romantic comedy and the other ghost comedy. You can collectively call it a romantic ghost comedy. In the film, it was always about an outside affair with the other woman and the hide-and-seek with the wife. But in our series the most beautiful thing is that one wife has recently died and her soul is not at peace as she wants her husband to be happy.

She can be only satisfied when he gets married again and the ghost wife arranges a wedding for her husband on her terhween, that is, the 13th day from the day of someone’s demise. Anant Vidhat plays the husband, while Vinny Arora Dhoopar plays the dead wife or the ghost. The storyline and presentation of PPAW is amazing.

“It gave me my first nomination in the industry and therefore the project is very special to me. SWA (Screenwriters Association Of India) nominated me, so it was all the more special as the writer's body acknowledged the talent,” he sounds excited.

Talking about his love for writing and how easy or difficult it is, he adds, “Writing in itself is a huge responsibility as every written word leads to a world created on screen and that might be complete magic or complete disaster for the rest of your life. This digital series is a huge commercial as well as critical success and it led us to a new glory in 2020.” jealous,” he jokes.
