Ranbir Kapoor slams trolls calling Alia Bhatt’s pregnancy a promotional stunt for Brahmastra

With her pregnancy announcement in June, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt caught everyone off guard. The Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022) star and her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor, are expecting their first child. Although Alia received a lot of love, other internet users mocked the actress online. Trolls claimed she was pregnant after she made the news as a publicity stunt for her and Ranbir’s film Brahmastra. In his most recent interview, Ranbir Kapoor has responded to the trolls.

Alia's pregnancy announcement was criticised by trolls as a "promotional stunt," to which Ranbir responded in an interview. He said, "Alia and I, as a married couple, thought that it would just seem right to tell the world, because we felt it was the right time. We just wanted to share the joy and the news with the world and there was no other thought to it."

The actor was also questioned about how he felt about his wife Alia becoming pregnant. He continued, "It was something that Alia and I had been speaking about for a long time, that we want lots of children in our lives. We feel blessed and grateful. It’s a mix of a lot of emotions. I’m just extremely grateful at this point in our lives."

In terms of work, Ranbir will be seen in the upcoming film Shamshera alongside Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. Shamshera, directed by Karan Malhotra, is scheduled to be released on July 22, 2022. Following that, the actor will co-star in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra with his wife Alia Bhatt. On September 9, 2022, it will be released.
