Raveena Tandon negates rumours of rivalry with Karisma Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty and Kajol

Raveena Tandon was one of the leading actresses during the 90s. She worked with almost all prominent filmmakers and superstars of that era. After staying away from the arc-light for a couple of years, Tandon has started taking up more acting assignments now, much to the delight of her fans. She was most recently seen in Netflix’s crime thriller streaming show Aranyak, which won her great critical acclaim from various quarters.
Talking to RJ Siddharth Kanan, Tandon opened up about being replaced in a few films in the 90s because her hero’s girlfriend did not like her. “She was dating a hero at that time and forced him to replace me because we were a hit pair. (She) forced him to replace with other heroines. So, I lost out on 1-2 films on that account,” the actress said.
When asked about being pitted against the likes of Karisma Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty and Kajol, who were also doing pretty well in the 90s, Tandon rubbished rumours of rivalry with them.
She said that Shilpa and her have been friends from day 1. “We have done films together. Kajol and I have been friends. It’s nothing of that sort,” she said.
The actress, however, said that there were a few who played “dirty games” and indulged in “dirty gossip” that she stayed away from.
After the huge success of Aranyak, Raveena Tandon is set to reprise her role in the second season of the show. Aranyak 2 is expected to go before cameras soon.
