Sam Bahadur: Vicky Kaushal starts his prep to become Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw
Actor Vicky Kaushal announced through his social media that he has begun prep for his next Sam Bahadur directed by Meghna Gulzar.

Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur had already made waves when the lead was confirmed and Vicky Kaushal’s look as the Field Marshal of India was shared on social media. This film also features Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra who will be playing major roles. Today, the Uri actor announced that he has begun his prep for the film. He’ll be playing the character of ‘Sam Manekshaw’.
Vicky took to Instagram to post a picture of the film's script as well as some photos that the actor was given to help him get into character. The actor captioned the image, "Here we go… Prep starts!!! #SAMBAHADUR meghnagulzar rsvpmovies."
Vicky will be joined by Fatima Sana Shaikh, who will portray Indira Gandhi. According to the latest sources, Fatima started preparing for the film a long time ago. Earlier, a source close to the actress revealed, "Fatima has been reading a number of books on Indira Gandhi to understand her better and get an idea of her regime as the Prime Minister. She also has got her hands on various documentaries to get the nuances and mannerisms of her character right. It is a responsible role and Fatima wants to do full justice to it."
Sanya Malhotra who appeared in the film Badhaai Do has been roped as the female lead. She’ll be playing the role of Sam Manekshaw’s wife Siloo Manekshaw.
