The film is written by Rajkumar Hirani, Abhijaat Joshi, and Kanika Dhillon. For the first time, Tapsee Pannu and Shah Rukh Khan will collaborate on the film. While announcing the film, SRK called Rajkumar Hirani his Santa Clause. He also mentioned that he started shooting the film and will join them soon. He also said he would start living on the set only to work on this film. He is too excited to work with Rajkumar Hirani.
