Produced by Shah Rukh Khan in association with Drishyam Films, the upcoming film Love Hostel will have a direct-to-digital release, as per reports. The film stars Vikrant Massey, Sanya Malhotra, and Bobby Deol in lead roles.
It was originally scheduled to be released on the big screen, but the producers didn't want to take any chances, so they went with OTT instead. This will be Red Chillies Entertainment's second OTT release; the first being Bob Biswas (2021), which starred Abhishek Bachchan and Chitrangada Singh. It premiered on ZEE5.
According to a source close to the development, the makers got to make sure that the movie reaches its target audience in the best possible way. “The box office is still recovering, and Love Hostel is a film that is driven by the content. Hence, the makers have decided to bring it on OTT so that the audience can enjoy it at their comfort,” the source revealed.
The film is written and helmed by Shanker Raman. The crime thriller will feature a young couple on the run, being hunted by a mercenary. It will play out against the background of the dusty plains of North India.
Love Hostel will be Red Chillies Entertainment's second collaboration with Drishyam Films. The two previously collaborated on the critically praised Kaamyaab (2018.
