Sohum Shah reacts to rumours about Tumbbad 2

There is no denying the fact that Tumbbad (2018) is one of the best films that Indian cinema has ever produced. Though the fantasy horror drama did not set the cash registers jingling upon its theatrical release in 2018, it did perform well for its budget and has only grown in status over the years.

Weeks after the release of Tumbbad, the makers had revealed their plans to work on a sequel to the film. Recently, when lead actor and producer of the film, Sohum Shah, posted a picture of himself on social media with a blue face mask on, it led to speculation that Tumbbad 2 was in the making.

Now, Shah has clarified that he is currently working on another project and not Tumbbad 2. “A lot of news is floating in the market with regards to Tumbbad 2. I hope it comes very soon. But right now, I am not working on Tumbbad 2 but on another project which I will be announcing soon. All I can say about it is that it is very interesting and will be very different from my previous work,” Shah said.

Meanwhile, Shah will next be seen in Maharani 2, reprising the role of Bheema Bharti.
