The 30-year-old actress' most recent professional appearance was in Ek Villain Returns, which also starred John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, and Tara Sutaria. She is set to star in many movies, including Suriya's 42nd movie. The actress was in Goa for the unnamed project's filming.

The director of the movie, Siruthai Siva, describes it as a period drama. The movie will feature music by Devi Sri Prasad, and Suriya's label 2D Entertainment is supporting the endeavour.
In addition to this, Patani will appear in Project K with Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone and Yodha with Sidharth Malhotra from Karan Johar.
