Dangal becomes the 1st film in 2000 crores club, beating Hollywood hit Zootopia!

The news every Bollywood-buff and especially Aamir Khan fans have been waiting to hear and it finally happens! Ever since Aamir Khan’s Dangal released back in December last year, it is either making records or smashing previous ones and this time it made a rock-solid record on box office, which might be hard for Bollywood to break it. Dangal’s box office collection in Indian innings already set a milestone which is hard enough to reach it, and its second innings in the Chinese market went further and created a history by not only yielding colossal earnings but also competing with international hits too.

In its 53rd day of release in the Chinese market, Dangal made Rs 2.5 crores at the China box office making its worldwide total collection to Rs 2000 crores, officially opening 2000 crores club. Now, this is just one side! In the race to make box office history, it also surpassed some of the notable Hollywood films in terms of revenue in China markets like Captain America: Civil War, xXx: Return Of Xander Cage, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, The Jungle Book, Kung Fu Panda 3 and Zootopia in global earnings!

Dangal, an action drama based on the life of Indian wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, was directed by Nitesh Tiwari and the cast includes Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra and Saakshi Tanwar. It would be interesting to see how Baahubali 2: the conclusion would perform in the Chinese market, as it will be releasing with 9000screens across the country.
