Alankrita Srivastava’s latest film Lipstick Under My Burkha has been accepted well by the Indian audience. The film witnessed a release on July 21 and is running strong at the box-office. The film managed to rake in positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience alike. The viewers are all praise for this bold presentation of women’s desires which was never attempted before. The film opened in only around 400 screens across the country.
It managed to bring in a decent number of Rs. 1.22 crores on its opening Friday, it further brought in Rs. 2.17 crores on Saturday and Rs. 2.41 crores on Sunday. The film passed the crucial Monday test as it made more than Friday, it made Rs. 1.28 crores on Monday. Hence, the total collection stands at Rs. 7.08 crores at the domestic front. The numbers are expected to remain stable during the weekdays due to the positive word of mouth.
It stars power performers Ratna Pathak , Konkona Sen Sharma , Aahana Kumra , Plabita Borthakur and Vikrant Massey in key roles. It has been produced by Prakash Jha Productions and distributed by Ekta Kapoor. Lipstick Under My Burkha received a tough competition from Tiger Shroff, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Nidhhi Agerwal’s Munna Michael and also the Hollywood release The Black Prince.
