Mom starring Sridevi starts its box-office journey on a slow note!
Despite raging reviews, Mom received the slow start at the Box Office expected to get the weekend boost!
Sometimes it is sad when a good film is left unjustified! Such a thing might happen to the fate of Sridevi’s recently released crime thriller movie, Mom! The genuine curiosity for the film remained to the peak, and with each trailer launch and song released, it kept trending up. And the early response from the critics was uplifting and positive. With all such positive points by their side, did they outperform their prediction and expectation! Well, the story is little different!
The film released in 1350 screens across India and has been dubbed in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages, which makes it more probable to get more than a decent opening at the box office. However, the first-day collection was around 3 crores only, which is moderately low performance as per the standards are concerned. Although it performed double than its box office competitor Guest Iin London, to the hype it created, it was little disappointing. But since Mom received a fair amount of good word, it will rise up!
Even trade pundits have speculated, since it is more of a mature minded content, it is likely to get a bump in the weekend as the mature audience are likely to make a plan to see this film. The film, ‘Mom’ is Sridevi’ 300th film and it is directed by Ravi Udyawar. And the star cast includes Akshaye Khanna, Sajal Ali, Adnan Siddiqui, Abhimanyu Singh & Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
