One of the most-awaited and touted action-crime saga 'D-Day' by Nikhil Advani released on July 19 along with the other releases like 'Ramaiya Vastavaiya' and Hollywood flicks - 'Red 2' and 'White House Down'. However, in spite of hefty promotions and all, 'D-Day' could not witness anticipated box office openings on Friday, managing to get sheer 15% occupancy response from the masses.
'D-Day' features Arjun Rampal, Irrfan Khan, Huma Qureshi, Nassar, Rishi Kapoor and Shruti Haasan. The strong star cast and catchy trailers elevated the expectations of the viewers from this flick. The other reason for the film failing to grab expected figures on Friday could be the last week release 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', which is still proving its strength at the box office with good numbers. Too low collections were recorded in the cities like Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mysore and Lucknow. 'D-Day' must reach the target of minimum 3 crore nett on its first day of release, else the movie has to walk through a thorny path ahead. The weekend performance of the film will depict the future of this thriller.
