First Weekend Box Office Collection of 'Bombay Talkies'

The joint venture of Bollywood's four big directors 'Bombay Talkies' which got a cold response on its first day of release was predicted to get an average collection at the box office on the weekends as well.

The joint venture of Bollywood's four big directors ' Bombay Talkies ' which got a cold response on its first day of release was predicted to get an average collection at the box office on the weekends as well. But conversely, on the weekends the film jumped big and contradicted all the predictions about its box office collections.

The film which is directed by four ace directors like Karan Johar , Dibakar Banerjee , Zoya Akhtar and Anurag Kashyap fared well on Saturday. The film was promoted with the high decibel publicity and starred big names like Rani Mukherjee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui . Bollywood's eminent celebs like Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif also did short cameos in the film. The film got a positive word of mouth and rave reviews from the critics. Although the film is said to be a tribute for the completion of the 100 years of Indian cinema, the short stories had no connection with the 100 years of Indian cinema. But, the film was seen ranking good on the first weekend.

The film was seen collecting 1.40 cr nett on Friday. It jumped high on its second day. The occupancy and collection was register to increase by 50 % on the weekends. ' Bombay Talkies ' managed to collect 2.10 cr nett on Saturday. The total domestic collection of 'Bombay Talkies' is reported to be 3.50 cr nett.

The film is expected to finish in the range of 6-6.5-0 cr nett in the first week. We can say the hyped film has finally managed to take up.
