First Weekend Box Office Collection of \'The Lunchbox\'

Ritesh Batra\'s dream venture \'The Lunchbox \', appreciated all around the world at several film festivals, was expected to create a boom as soon as it steps in to serve the audiences back home. Despite all ga-ga on the global platform, the strong star cast including Irrfan Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Nimrat Kaur, the film received a lukewarm response on the opening day itself.

Neck to neck competition with the mass entertainer \'Phata Poster Nikhla Hero\' starring Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D\'cruz is considered solely liable to grab a huge share that was anticipated to mock its screens. As soon as \'The Lunchbox\' served at the ticket windows, it was queued by the crowd but, a limited one, which contributed a share of approximately 1.25 crores on the inaugural.

As the Friday took a leave and the Saturday was ready with the reviews of both the releases, the tables seemed to be turned.
