The first-week collection of Pad Man is here and it emerges as the clear winner!

With Pad Man, Akshay Kumar has delivered yet another successful movie. Released last week, the social comedy-drama emerged as the clear winner at the box office. The movie was initially scheduled to clash with Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary, but as the latter got postponed, Kumar’s film got a solo release. Pad Man’s total pre and post-production cost was around 30 crores and with one week, the film managed to earn double of its cost. After 7 days at the box office, the film pocketed Rs. 62.87 crores at the domestic market and turned into a profitable venture within 1st week itself.

The film is based on the novel of Twinkle Khanna, which was actually based on the life of Tamil Nadu based social worker, Arunachalam Muruganantham. The movie is directed by R Balki and is jointly produced by Akshay’s wife, Twinkle and KriArj Entertainment.

The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in the lead and till date, the worldwide collection of the film has reached to Rs. 82.51 crores.
