Audiences were all excited to see the sequel, Blade Runner 2049, which was the continuation of the storyline from the prequel of Blade Runner, which was released in 1982! Just before the film is all set to release in the Indian theatres on 6th October, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chopped down all the nude shots, frontal and back, from the film and gave an ‘A’ certificate for the content included. And the best part is, all the aforementioned nudity were composed in computer-generated graphics, which was representing artificial intelligence as per the storyline!

And as the sources revealed, “Blade Runner 2049 is a futuristic saga where women are shown to be created through artificial intelligence. They can’t be shown with clothes on, because as per CBFC’s guidelines, “Nudity in any form is not allowed. It doesn’t matter if the nude form is computer generated.” But the twist in the tale is, a statue of a nude woman has been exempted and is still in the film.

Added to the misery of the Indian distributors, CBFC has shown four-letter abuses but deleted virtual nudes and even asked to blur liquor bottles, wherever they are shown. Blade Runner is one of the most anticipated releases of the year and considering the power-packed cast of Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford reprising the role, Jared Leto and WWE superstar Dave Bautista is in the film, even regular Hollywood cine-goers were excited for its release on 6th October.
