Kate Winslet to be a part of Avatar franchise & reunite with James Cameron after 20 years!

Some news comes out of nowhere and just blows your mind! Just when the announcement of four sequels of Avatar series was heating up the excitement for the series and everyone was eagerly waiting for the first sequel to hit the theatres, it was announced that Kate Winslet is all set to star in James Cameron's Avatar sequels, reuniting with the director two decades after they collaborated on Titanic.

When asked about the reunion, director James Cameron replied, “Kate and I have been looking for something to do together for 20 years, since our collaboration on Titanic, which was one of the most rewarding of my career. I can't wait to see her bring the character of Ronal to life." Although it is definitely quite an odd news to hear as Kate Winslet is mostly associated with a heartfelt drama that keeps her in for Oscar bait and Avatar is we all know, it is a sci-fi genre action film!

About the progress of the first sequel, Cameron began filming the first of the four Fox movies last week in California and Cameron will be producing these sequels with Jon Landau! Most of the cast members that will be retrieving their role would be Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, CCH Pounder, and Stephen Lang, with Game of Thrones star Oona Chaplin recently joining the cast. The script is written by Cameron with Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Shane Salerno. The Avatar 2 will hit the theatres on December 18, 2020!
