The spin-off for Joker & Harley Quinn is in the process, ft. Jared Leto & Margot Robbie!

Although Suicide Squad was a blockbuster hit on paper but was also criticised by fans and critics. But it successfully managed to make a mark for most of the anti-hero characters and so for iconic Joker, his partner in crime Harley Quinn played by Jared Leto and Margot Robbie. And as per updates for DCU Intel's, there will be a spin-off standalone film for the characters of Joker and Harley Quinn, but David Ayer will not be directing this spin-off.

The character of Joker played by Jared Leto was the main highlight of Suicide Squad as almost every fan wished to see Batman's arch nemesis to return on screen, especially after Heath Ledger made it so iconic in Dark Knight Returns. But when the film was released, Jared Leto received mixed reviews from fans and critics. But his chemistry with Harley Quinn's character was appreciated and fans expressed their thoughts for a standalone film for these two characters. On the other hand, the performance of other anti-heroes like Margot Robbie & Deadshot by Will Smith was praised by the masses & classes. Hence it would be interesting to see what DCU has to offer for those who were disappointed by Suicide Squad.

The responsibility of direction is helmed to Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, who have previously directed classic Rom-Com, Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011). Despite the election of directors and leading cast, the title and release dates for the film are yet to be revealed. Though we might not have to wait for a much longer period, as reported by Hollywood Reporter , DCU seems to have liked the script, which was also written by the same director duo, and hence the pre-production process is been put on fast-track.

Though it is not confirmed yet, we can expect a cameo by Will Smith reprising his role of Deadshot. We also predict this spin-off will be released before the gang of Suicide Squad rejoins for its sequel. It is good to see DCEU is making a solid comeback in competition with Marvel Comic's Universe (MCU), and considering the future lineup from DC films like Justice League, Wonder Women 2, Aquaman and in-talk standalone film for Batman, DC fans will be in for a treat for coming years.
