Captain America star Chris Evans in talks to play legendary actor Gene Kelly in an untitled film

If things fall in place, Captain America star Chris Evans will be seen in a new avatar soon. According to reports, the talented actor is in talks to star as legendary actor Gene Kelly in an upcoming big-ticket film.

Set to be produced by John Logan, the untitled film is based on Evans’ original idea in which a 12-year-old boy who works on the MGM Lot in the 1950s finds an imaginary friend in Kelly while working on his newest film.     

Apart from playing the lead role, Evans is also set to produce the venture alongside Logan. Logan is also associated with the project as a writer. Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman are also attached as producers. They will be producing via their company T-Street Productions, as will Mark Kassen after they last worked together on the thriller in 2019.

The film marks a reunion for Johnson, Bergman and Evans as they have previously worked together on Knives Out (2019). Johnson is currently busy working on a sequel to his successful film Knives Out (2019).

As far as Evans is concerned, he is presently busy working on the much-anticipated Hollywood film The Gray Man. Also starring Ryan Gosling and Indian actor Dhanush in lead roles, the film is being directed by Russo Brothers.
