The film Avatar:-

The film Avatar was released in 2009, with a huge critical and business opening film for James Cameron. The film has become the highest-grossing film of that time. Received a nomination for the Nine Academy awards. It has built the way for several films to experiment with filmmaking techniques. But James Cameron did not rush for his Films sequel.

The filmmaker opens about the film's delay:-

In one of the interviews, the filmmaker disclosed, "I started confronting this issue of, 'Do I even want to make another movie, let alone another Avatar movie?" He further talks about the first film," a movie that's asking you to cry for a tree." He mentioned how environmental factors such as climate change and other issues had played an immense role in the making of the sequel, which has taken so long. "People are angsty enough. We'll be injecting this film into a marketplace at a different time. And maybe things that were over the horizon in 2009 are upon us now. Maybe it's not entertainment anymore. The filmmaker's role is not to make it gloom and doom anymore but to offer constructive solutions."

James Cameron's response when asked about the Cultural imprint of their first film:-

He replied each film has its moments, even though everyone from the industry expects the sequel too early. At the same time, he has faith in the perfect timing for the sequel. The director says, "That's just how the industry works. You come back to the well and build that cultural impact over time. Marvel had maybe 26 movies to build a universe, with the characters cross-pollinating. So it's an irrelevant argument. We'll see what happens after this film."
