Met Gala 2024: All About Theme, Designers And Attendees Of The Highly Anticipated Event!

The largest star-studded party of the year won't take place until May 2024, but Vogue has already given us a preview of what to anticipate. The theme for the forthcoming Met Gala has been revealed, and it looks like something out of a fairy tale. Everything you need to know about this highly anticipated event is right here.

Last year's Met Gala was themed Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty in honour of the iconic fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. However, for 2024, the topic Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion will take us on a fantastic trip. On November 8, Vogue debuted this lovely theme.

The Sleeping Beauties theme will look at nature from three perspectives: land, sea, and sky. It represents the delicate and ever-changing nature of fashion, prompting visitors to ponder the cyclical concepts of rebirth and regeneration. The Met Gala will feature 50 rare and delicate historical artefacts that are too fragile to wear, as well as a magnificent display of 250 items from the Costume Institute's permanent collection.

This groundbreaking display, according to Max Hollein, The Met's Marina Kellen French Director and CEO, will extend the bounds of our imagination, providing a greater appreciation of the beauty and history of each object.

The exhibition will take you on a 400-year trip through fashion history, with pieces ranging from a 17th-century English Elizabethan-era bodice to modern-day purchases from prominent designers like Phillip Lim, Stella McCartney, and Connor Ives. It will also feature pieces by legendary fashion designers such as Elsa Schiaparelli, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Hubert de Givenchy, and many more.

While the official guest list has yet to be announced, the Kardashian-Jenners are expected to make an appearance, considering their recent outstanding moments at the Met Gala.
