The film titled as ' Harud ', which is the directorial debut of the actor Aamir Bashir has gained good recognition at various film festivals. Some of the prominent film festivals where ' Harud ' has been screened include Toronto Film Festival (2010), 54th BFI London Film Festival, and Mumbai Film Festival (2010).

Although the film has been ready since 2010, it has failed to release in theatres till date. It was to be released on July 27, but the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has banned the director from releasing its promos in theatres. CBFC have a problem with a certain visual in the promo that has the protagonists against a backdrop that reads: Aazadi, and wanted it to be removed.

It is a bit surprising to note that although the theatrical release of promos have been banned, the film ' Harud ' has been approved for release with U/A certificate with the 'so called' controversial scene intact.

As a matter of principle, the director has decided not to run the trailer; instead he will put up the promos online.

The film's official spokesperson was quoted saying that the Censor Board has approved the film with dialogue cuts but there are no visual cuts.

Aamir Bashir 's ' Harud ' will be released by PVR Cinemas label on July 27.
