Aamir Khan's fund drive for Uttarakhand flood victims

Aamir Khan initiated a drive to collect funds for Uttarakhand flood victims. Several bolly celebs contributed in the noble cause.

Mr. perfectionist of B-Town, Aamir Khan has come up with an initiative for supporting a noble cause. Reportedly, Aamir initiated a drive for garnering funds for Uttarakhand flood victims.

Believing in the slogan, 'Charity begins at home', Aamir Khan kickstarted with his own donation of Rs. 25 lakhs to the fund. The collection will be offered on behalf of the Film and Television Producers' Guild to the Prime Minister Relief Fund. As for now, 1 crore has been the total collection by the film industry. Aamir Khan is well-known for his support in such noble causes. The versatile actor even spotted the light on various social issues in his earlier television show 'Satyamev Jayate'.

From the MP funds, the veteran personalities like Javed Akhtar and Shatrughan Sinha have donated 50 lakhs each. Shabana Azmi offered the help of 5 lakhs from her NGO. 1 lakh has been the donation given by Anupam Kher through his foundation. Shabana Azmi even revealed to attaining more funds, so that a substantial amount can be contributed.

There also has been an announcement from Film and TV Producers' Guild along with FWICE (Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees) are planning to either adopt a village from Uttarakhand or will be assisting Uttarakhand uprooted local residents to resettle.

As per the buzz, the film industry might held a charity concert very soon for generating more and more funds to support the cause.
