Richa Chadda and breaking stereotypes go hand in hand. The talented actress is breaking all the stereotypes since her debut film. Where most actresses run for glamour, Richa has proved her mettle by doing back to back off-beat movies. After doing a variety of roles, the 30-year-old actress is now regarded as the comic queen, and mostly known by her famous name Bholi Punjaban. The latest we hear about the actress is now she wants to try her hands in writing as well. Apart from films, Richa has also done theatres and stand-up comedy, and now she hopes to develop a comic script for her upcoming film.
Richa has also hosted and judged a comedy show on television, titled ‘Queens of Comedy’, which was out and out stand-up comedy reality show only for females. In an interview with a leading daily, Richa said, “I do not understand why people think that women cannot do justice to a comedy role. We have had a history of leading ladies who played extremely funny roles in films from the black and white era.”
She further added, “Comedy is my new favorite genre. Of course, I will continue to do all kinds of films, but I enjoy comic roles as they don’t take a toll on you and your well-being. Especially a film like Fukrey, where the cast comprises of friends is sheer pleasure. I made some new friends on Queens of Comedy earlier on as well. I am hoping to develop a comic script too.”
Richa’s recent film, ‘Fukrey Returns’ released a few days ago and it’s doing a great business at the box office. Apart from this, she will be next seen in ‘Love Sonia’ and ‘Ghoomketu’, both of them are slated for a 2018 release.
