Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha honoured by \'Dadasaheb Phalke Award\'
Various actors from film fraternity were honored the prestigious "Dadasaheb Phalke Award" by the President at the ceremony conducted to mark the \'Centenary of Indian cinema\'.
A recent felicitation event at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai saw various elites from the film fraternity gathering together from their respective streams. The event was organized to honour the giants with the prestigious \"Dadasaheb Phalke Award\" from the hands of our honorary President, Mr. Pranab Mukherji accompanied with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa who once herself enjoyed stardom in yesteryear.
The event took place on the concluding day of the four day long celebrations regards to mark the \"Centenary of Indian Cinema\". Biggies from Bollywood like Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Sridevi, Javed Akhtar and Randhir Kapoor were honoured by the President with the esteemed title. And so were actors like M S Viswanathan (Tamil), Mammootty, Mohanlal (Malayalam), K Viswanath (Telugu), Ramesh Deo and Seema Deo (Marathi), Aparna Sen, Gautham Ghosh (Bengali) along with Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari, few among others to be delighted at the garner.
Well, now that occupying a list of wholesome vintage talents, who would be the gen-next star to be accumulating these megastars of the fraternity? Will it be the rising star Ranbir Kapoor or the powerhouses Irrfan Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui adding up to the league, we wonder!
