The multi-talented Ayushmann Khurrana has now become the face of family comedy-drama movies. His last two movies, Bareilly Ki Barfi and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan became instant hits and his kitty got loaded with many such films. After impressing us with his wit and humour, the actor is now paired for the first time opposite Sanya Malhotra, who gave a powerful performance in her debut movie, Dangal. The two are leading a yet another family comedy-drama titled, ‘Badhaai Ho’ and it is helmed by Amit Sharma. The duo started shooting for the film at the end of January and yesterday, they finished the first schedule in Mumbai.
Amit took to his Twitter to announce the wrap of the first schedule and shared a few pictures of the crew on set as they celebrated. Amit tweeted, "#BadhaaiHo 1st schedule wrapped ... On the way to Delhi now... Shooting starts from 16th Feb. @ayushmannk @sanyamalhotra07 @JungleePictures @ChromePictures @hemantchrome @Sen_Aleya."
The movie is a coming-of-age story of a family as it grapples with some unexpected news. The film follows the impact of the news on the family and how the members deal with it in their own way.
Badhaai Ho is being made under the banner of Junglee Pictures, who gave Bareilly Ki Barfi last year. As Ayushmann is collaborating for the second time with the team, he is excited working with them again.
Earlier, talking about the movie, Ayushmann had said, "I had a fantastic experience collaborating with Junglee Pictures for Bareilly Ki Barfi and working with them on Badhaai Ho is going to be exciting. The story that Amit tells is typically Indian with dollops of quirky humour. I look forward to a family film that is innovative and entertaining."
