A film whether good or bad, hit or a flop, it takes team efforts to complete the task. It is only complete when everyone plays their part right. Filmmaking is hard, and not only for the director but for everyone. But still, in this chaos, newbie director Konkona Sen Sharma managed to put up a disciplined team of cast and crew together to pull up a masterpiece.
Shooting schedule in the most remote place possible is indeed a nightmare for any executive producer and even the whole production team. And when you knew the area is a Naxalite sensitive area, it even became a daunting task. But with great efforts, the whole crew managed to work, even in the harshest conditions.
A Director is captain of the ship and Konkana Sen Sharma really made it. Her theater and on-set experience does shine throughout the course of the shooting. Thrusting her actors, pushing the limits, making the most out of the screenplay, she seems to have nailed it all. As for now, trailer defines how committed she is to her craft.
Film critics already are praising for the films on all aspects and with initial impressions on the trailer, it does seem one of the promising psychological thrillers of the year. And A Death in the Gunj will be at the theater near you, so be sure to check out this period thriller.
