Its second weekend collection at box-office in India had reached 183.73 crore and the film is zooming ahead with overseas collection around 90 crore in just two weeks. Shah Rukh Khan , Deepika Padukone starrer incurred positive reviews from almost all the sources and it rocked at the silver screen drawing viewers from all age groups, being a pure family entertainer.
The film has surpassed ' Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani ' record with flying colours. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#ChennaiExpress [Week 2]: Fri 6.50 cr, Sat 8.51 cr, Sun 10.22 cr, Mon 3.80 cr. Grand total: Rs 185.73 cr. SUPERB... Note: India biz only."
