Director of Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Kundan Shah passed way this morning!
Kundan Shah is known for his several classic films, television series which are still remembered by the audience!
Early this morning, Bollywood woke up to a sad news as the veteran director Kundan Shah passed away at his residence on Saturday morning following a heart attack and his daughter confirmed the news. He was 70!
Director Kundan Shah is known for his directorial credits like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron (1983) for which he received National Award in the best film category, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1993). His films are now considered to be the cult-classic films in the history of Indian cinema! Kundan Shah directed films like Kya Kehna (2000) and Dil Hai Tumhara (2002), which were appreciated by the critics and audience alike! And besides directing films, he also directed television shows like Nukkad (1986) and Wagle Ki Duniya (1988) which are still remembered as stepping stone for Indian sitcoms in the early days of Indian television!
Besides making films, Kundan Shah is also known for his contribution to the film industry and filmmakers guild. In November 2015, Shah along with 23 other directors announced they were returning their National Awards to the central government as part of a protest against growing intolerance in the country. He will surely be remembered for credibility, social work and overall contribution to the society!
