'English Vinglish' made Japan's First Lady emotional

Japan's First Lady Mrs Akie Abe got very emotional after seeing the premier of Sridevi's film 'English Vinglish' in Tokyo.

The chirpy actress Sridevi made her comeback with the film ' English Vinglish ' in the year 2012. The actress won accolades for her impeccable performance in the film and the film traveled overseas with its release in the countries like Taiwan, Hong Kong, Germany and Korea. After hitting the screens in these nations, ' English Vinglish ' was premiered at Tokyo in Japan.

Japan's First Lady Mrs Akie Abe was the Chief Guest for the premier of the film. The event was also attended by the other eminent personalities like pop singer Agnes Chan and Japanese press. Chan performed at the event. Sridevi 's producer husband Boney Kapoor was also present at the venue. The actress exchanged gifts with Japan's First Lady and they had a discussion on cinema and the increasing popularity of Hindi movies in Japan. A close source revealed that Japan's First Lady was very emotional after watching the film and it left her teary eyed. Gauri Shinde 's directorial ' English Vinglish ' will release in Japan on June 28.
