Excitement Alert: Welcome 3 to go on floors from next year!
Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal will be seen reprising their roles in the third installment as well.
Looks like it’s raining remakes and sequels in Bollywood. While the sequel mantra was always in demand, a yet another movie franchise is all set to get extended. We are talking Firoz Nadiadwala’s Welcome franchise, which will soon have its third installment. If insiders are to be believed then Welcome 3 will go on floors from next year and Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal will be seen reprising their respective roles in the third installment as well.
However, Welcome 3 will not be directed by Anees Bazmee but by a new director. Talking about the project, a source stated to the tabloid, "Anil will continue to play Majnu, Nana returns as Uday Shetty while Paresh plays Dr. Ghunghroo. While the first two installments were more about comedy, this one will have action in equal measure. Locations are currently being finalised with shooting schedules also being planned in Tokyo and Osaka."
The source further said, "They have approached Oscar-winning German composer Hans Zimmer for the background score." Zimmer is famous for his works in The Lion King (1995). He has won Grammy Awards for Crimson Tide (1996) and The Dark Knight (2009).
The first installment of the Welcome franchise was released in 2007, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, the second one released in 2015 with John Abraham and Shruti Haasan as the lead and it will be awaited to watch which actors will head Welcome 3.
